Culture & Community in the South Pacific
Our Culture & Community projects in the South Pacific give volunteers the opportunity to experience the local culture first-hand and immerse themselves fully in the ways of their host country. These programmes are ideal for open-minded volunteers with a respect for different cultures who wish to broaden their horizons.
Culture & Community in the South Pacific - What Is It Like?
Volunteers can choose from placements in Fiji or Samoa, where they will live with a host family and get involved in all aspects of village life. The aim of these Culture & Community programmes is to provide services to benefit the local people, such as teaching English to children and running after-school programmes to help with homework. You may also be expected to assist with chores and small tasks that need doing, such as cooking or gardening.
These unique projects offer volunteers the chance to share knowledge and learn about a culture different from their own, while living with and helping out a local community.
