How does it work?

Ready to take your nursing studies global? Here are the key details to keep in mind:

  • Flexible Duration: You can join a placement for a minimum of 2 weeks up to 3 weeks.
  • Fixed Timeframe: You need to join for placement anytime between the 9th and 31st August 2026 in order to utilise Turing funding.
  • General Destination Options: Choose from a wide variety of healthcare settings across our developing destinations in Africa, Asia, or Latin America.
  • Exclusive Partnership Discount: As an Oxford Brookes student, you will receive a special £200 Oxford Brookes University discount off our standard website prices, which will be applied after booking. This is in addition to the Turing funding. 
  • Turing Funding: Get government funding through your University Study Abroad department to help contribute towards the placement fee and the flights. 

What Nursing Placement Options Can You Choose?

Our placements are structured to complement your specific nursing pathway. Rather than a general Nursing placement experience, your time abroad will be fully focused on clinical exposure within your area of Nursing study.

Nursing Pathways including

  • Adult Nursing: Work in busy regional hospitals, rotating through departments like A&E, intensive care, oncology, or general medicine.
  • Available in: Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Nepal, Cambodia, Philippines, Mongolia, Vietnam, Jamaica, Argentina (Spanish-required), Mexico (Spanish-required)
  • Child Nursing: Gain experience in paediatric wards, neonatal units, and specialised children's clinics.
    Available in: Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Nepal, Cambodia, Philippines, Vietnam, Jamaica, Argentina (Spanish-required), Mexico (Spanish-required)
  • Mental Health Nursing: Learn how psychiatric care and mental health awareness are approached in different cultural contexts.
    Available in: Tanzania, Jamaica, Mexico (Spanish-required)

All placements are supervised by qualified local healthcare professionals.

How do I apply?

  1. Select Your Destination: Browse our global nursing placement options and pick the country and Nursing department that best fits your professional goals. Reach out to us for any questions or support (info@projects-abroad.co.uk).
  2. Check Turing Funding Support: Speak with your Oxford Brookes University study abroad office (studyabroad@brookes.ac.uk)  to find out how much Turing funding you would get based on the destination you have chosen
  3. Submit Your Application: Once approved by your Study Abroad office for the Turing funding, you will pay a £195 deposit to confirm your placement. The £150 placement discount will be added after booking. The final balance won't be due until one month before your departure date.
