Great news! Projects in Vietnam are available from January 2023.

Volunteer in Vietnam to do work that serves communities in need. You will become part of our ongoing efforts to support these communities, while immersing yourself in the culture.

We offer several different volunteer opportunities in Vietnam. You can support early childhood development at a daycare centre, or teach English at disadvantaged schools. Or, build your practical medical knowledge through an internship at a local hospital. There are many options that you can explore.

Most of our projects are based in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital. Hanoi is a large city, filled with tall buildings and busy streets. You’ll navigate your way between thousands of pedestrians and motorcycles. During your free time, you can explore the city, taste delicious street foods, and shop at markets in the beautiful old part of the city.

Our full-time staff in Vietnam are there to support you 24/7 if you need it. They’ll answer any questions you have and will be there to help and guide you.

Vietnam has an interesting history that you can learn more about while volunteering. The people are friendly and welcoming, and the country is extremely beautiful. Make the most of your time in this Southeast Asian country, and see and do as much as possible!

Where we are based in Vietnam

Your volunteer work in Vietnam will be based in or around Hanoi, the capital and second-largest city. The city is located in the north of the country and is characterised by its busy streets, tall skyscrapers, and rapid urbanisation. The people of Vietnam are warm and welcoming, and you can get to know them while exploring markets and eating delicious street foods like spring rolls.

Vietnam draws hundreds and thousands of tourists to its shores. The breath-taking beauty of Ha Long Bay is the nearest coastal attraction, and you can easily visit over a weekend. We also recommend taking a break in the peaceful countryside, where you can watch the sun set over rice paddies.

Airport pickup, flights and visas

When you arrive at your respective airport, a member of Projects Abroad staff will be there to meet you. You can find more detailed information on arrival airports, orientation, and visas on our Vietnam Arrival Procedures page.
