Community-Based Volunteer Projects Overseas
Whatever type of overseas voluntary work you choose to do with Projects Abroad you will receive a unique perspective into the culture of the country in which you are working and you will become an integral part of a local community abroad.
The projects in this Community section place you at the heart of some of the most unusual communities in the world.

By volunteering abroad on these projects you will be contributing towards the preservation of some extraordinary ways of life and working with many local people to achieve a common goal.
Argentina - Equine Therapy help both adults and children rehabilitate from emotional and physical problems through a therapy programme which involves working with horses.
Bolivia - Eco-Project work on environmental awareness programmes with children or spend time on an Eco-Farm, learning about and developing sustainable farming techniques.
Bolivia - Music teach music to children in an orphanage in Cochabamba.
Brazil - Music teach music to children and young adults in a cultural centre in Niteroi.

Cambodia – Khmer Projects explore the ancient civilisations and engaging culture of modern Cambodia on our Khmer Projects. Learn some of the Khmer language, cooking and local crafts and visit the main sites of Phnom Penh and the magnificent temples at Angkor Wat.
Ghana - Community Farming combine some time working at our small farm and garden in the Akuapem Hills with work on a teaching, care or building project.
Ghana - HIV/Aids Project work in a hospital and in the community on a vital HIV and Aids control programme.
Ghana – IT Project help to teach children much sought after computer skills.
Jamaica – Agriculture & Community Farming Project work with a cooperative farming association promoting protected agriculture by farming in greenhouses.
Jamaica – Maroon Community Project live with a traditional Maroon community in Jamaica. The Jamaican Maroons were runaway slaves who fought the British during the 18th century. Working alongside members of the Maroon community you will help with a wide variety of tasks from teaching reading to cultural preservation projects.
Jamaica - Music teach music appreciation and musical instruments including the keyboard, guitar, violin, flute and drums to children and teenagers.
Mexico - Arts & Crafts learn the art of ceramics by working alongside Mexican artisans in Tlaquepaque, a district of Guadalajara.
Mongolia – Nomad Projects live and work on the Mongolian steppe with a Nomadic family. Riding horses and camels and collecting firewood are all part of daily life in the desert.
Morocco - IT Project teach important IT skills to teenagers and adults in Rabat.
Morocco - Nomad Project live and work in the Saharan desert with Moroccan nomads.
Peru – Inca Projects explore ancient and modern Peru with this exciting project, which encompasses clearing Inca ruins, community-development projects, expeditions to Inca sites and work around the Inca Project house to help towards the aim of becoming self-sufficient.
Romania - Dance teach dance to children in schools and clubs, put on dance workshops and create your own dance performance.
Romania - Drama an opportunity to work with drama clubs in Romania as well as the local drama community and theatre groups.
Senegal - Music & Culture join a Senegalese group of musicians while learning about the culture and history of Senegal.
South Africa – IT Project focuses on teaching IT skills to young adults.
Sri Lanka – IT Project help to teach children much sought after computer skills.
