What is Darwin200?

The ship Oosterschelde sailing on the open sea

Darwin200 is a sailing voyage, inspired by Charles Darwin’s historic journey around the world. An English naturalist, biologist, and geologist, Darwin worked aboard the HMS Beagle as a naturalist for five years.

While collecting specimens of plants and animals, and making scientific observations he developed his theories of evolution and natural selection.

Nearly 200 years later, environmentalists will sail aboard the tall ship Oosterschelde. Their voyage will take them to the same locations as Darwin, where they will conduct research and join conservation projects.

How can I join Darwin200?

While the global voyage has already begun, Darwin200 has partnered with Projects Abroad so you can still take part in the adventure.
