Remember the incredible moments, the inspiring connections, and the breathtaking landscapes from your Projects Abroad adventure? This summer, we want to see the world through your eyes!
Whether you’re currently on a project or reminiscing about your recent travels, we are looking for authentic snippets of your experience. Your content could be featured in our global ads, newsletters, and social media, inspiring the next generation of travellers to take the leap.
To celebrate your creativity, we are giving away £500 in cash prizes across two categories: Best Photo and Best Short Video.

What we are looking for
You don’t need a fancy camera to win this! In fact, we want your raw, authentic content.
Think iPhone videos, Android clips, and quick selfies. Since the final winners will be decided by a public vote on social media, think about what rolls best on Instagram Reels or TikTok.
Here is exactly what we are looking for:
- Short & Sweet: All videos must be under 1 minute, but aim for 10 to 30 seconds.
- Photos: Show us your absolute best handful of shots. We love selfies, candid moments with your team or host family, local food, and weekend adventures. Put yourself in the frame!
- Videos: Send us exciting clips, wholesome moments, “day in the life” montages with voiceovers, or a quick testimonial.
- Keep it Raw or Cut it Together: We welcome raw, unedited clips directly from your camera roll just as much as we love a finished, edited reel. As long as the footage is good quality, send it over!
- Multiple Entries Allowed: Have a great photo and an awesome video? Submit both! You can upload multiple photos and videos to maximise your chances of winning.
How it works
Submit Your Content: Enter via the link below before the deadline on 1 September 2026.
The Shortlist: The Projects Abroad Team will select the Top 8 Photos and Top 8 Videos.
The Public Vote: On 10 September 2026, the voting opens to the public across our platforms! You’ll have exactly two weeks to rally your friends, family, and fellow alumni to vote.
- 📸 The Photo Vote will take place exclusively on our Official WhatsApp Channel via subscriber reactions and polls.
- 🎥 The Video Vote will battle it out live on our Instagram Page as Reels.
Winners Announced: Winners will be officially crowned on 24 September 2026 based on the final verified vote and reaction counts at our closing hour (11am BST).

Guidelines and Ethical Principles
Consent is Crucial: If local people or fellow participants are clearly identifiable in your videos or photos, you must have their explicit, verbal permission before filming or sharing.
Protecting Young Children: To protect the privacy of local communities, please do not submit media featuring the identifiable faces of young children unless you can provide a clear, signed parental or guardian consent alongside your submission.
Ethical Animal Interaction: We have a strict animal welfare policy. Do not submit photos or videos of yourself holding, hugging, or posing with wild animals unless it is a specific, hands-on task directly required by your official conservation project activity.
Empowering Narratives Only: Focus on positive, empowering storytelling. Show yourself working alongside local communities, sharing skills, and celebrating local cultures. Avoid invasive imagery that compromises anyone’s dignity.

Terms and conditions
By submitting your media to the Projects Abroad Summer Content Competition 2026, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
Eligibility:
- This contest is open only to Projects Abroad participants and alumni.
- You must provide your full first name and last name when you submit. This will be used to verify your eligibility.
- Employees, contractors, and their immediate families of Projects Abroad are not eligible to participate.
Submission Guidelines & Rights:
- Submitted photos and videos must be original works created by the entrant.
- Entrants warrant that they own the copyright to the submitted media and that it does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
- Consent: Entrants must have verifiable consent from all identifiable individuals in the video/photo.
- License: Submission grants Projects Abroad a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute the submitted media for any marketing, advertising, promotional, and newsletter use.
- Entrants consent to being named and having their social media profile associated with their media if shared.
Judging & Voting:
- Initial shortlisting is conducted by the Projects Abroad marketing team based on creativity, alignment with guidelines, and quality. The team’s decision is final.
- The final winners will be decided by public vote on Projects Abroad’s designated social media channel. Winners will be determined by the highest number of verified reactions at the closing hour (11am BST) on the final day of voting.
Prizes:
- Winners must have, or create, a valid PayPal account to receive their cash prize. Where the winner’s primary currency is not GBP, they will absorb any conversion fees.
- Projects Abroad reserves the right to withhold prizes if entries do not reach the required ethical or creative standards.
Governing Law:
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales.
