Learn Wolof in Senegal
Join a Wolof Language Course in Senegal and discover the vibrant culture of this West African nation. The Wolof people comprise over one third of the Senegalese population and approximately 80% of Senegalese people speak Wolof. Although French is the official language of Senegal, you will hear Wolof spoken frequently and most young children will speak much better Wolof than French.
Lessons are with a qualified language teacher, are tailored to your personal level, and can be adapted to your interests. With accommodation in the home of a local family, you'll learn quickly and can practise what you've learned with your hosts each day.
There are two options when it comes to learning Wolof in Senegal. You can choose to take part in an intensive standalone Language Course, where you will receive around 15 hours of tuition per week.
After completing your Wolof Language Course, you can also choose to spend time working on one of our Senegal volunteer projects, such as Teaching or Care, and put your newly acquired language skills to use in a practical working environment.
Alternatively, you can choose to sign up for our 5-hour, 14-hour, or 30-hour Language Course add-ons, which run alongside your main volunteer project. These prices are in addition to your main project price. Please take a look at our Senegal language prices for more information.
