Medicine in Nepal

This High School Special programme is structured to give you an incredible insight into medical practices in Nepal. Your project will begin in the intriguing Nepalese capital Kathmandu from where you will travel to Chitwan. Here, medical volunteers will experience a multi-speciality hospital and take part in lectures at the local teaching hospital.

You will stay in a hotel close to the areas where you are working and will participate in evening activities planned by our local staff.

At the weekend there will either be a trip to the central markets and local temples, or a trip to the huge and beautiful nature reserve of Chitwan national park.

Those joining us on the four week programme will get extra visits and activities arranged during the other weekends.

This placement is fully researched, safety audited and risk assessed in accordance with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector.

Every year, thousands of High School Special volunteers actively make a difference around the world. During their time abroad, they contribute towards achieving long-term goals and make a long-lasting positive impact on the communities where they work. If you want to know more about their achievements, read our 2017 High School Specials Impact Report.
