Sri Lanka may be known for its beautiful views, tropical beaches, wildlife reserves and a rich cultural diversity, but the country also faces many challenges, and poverty continues to be a struggle for many people. Volunteer in Sri Lanka on a two-week structured project and contribute to a worthwhile project while making a difference in the lives of the local youth.

Volunteers will spend time working in preschools and care centres, helping to develop the foundation of each child's learning. You will take part in day-to-day activities at your preschool or care centre, help the local teachers, and get involved in arts and crafts. Games and singing may also be part of your responsibilities. This project requires a passion and commitment to working with children, and volunteers are encouraged to use the resources provided to make the days fun and stimulating for each child.

During your stay you will be living with a host family which promises a richer cultural experience. For a full Sri Lankan adventure, you will also visit well-known monuments such as Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and trips to Kandy and the Elephant Park.

This placement is fully researched, safety audited and risk assessed in accordance with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector.
