Two Projects Abroad volunteers sit in a circle with children at a care center in Nepal on the Care project

Knowing you are contributing to a sustainable project in Nepal can be incredibly rewarding. The country is considered one of the poorest in the world, and with a number of socio-economic challenges facing Nepal, volunteers are needed to help alleviate these and provide support for local communities.

The Care & Community project is based in Kathmandu and needs volunteers to assist in local care centres, working with children from underprivileged backgrounds. You will take part in activities such as reading, teaching basic English skills and playing educational games. You will also help educate the children about general health issues and encourage them to practice good hygiene such as hand-washing and teeth-brushing.

Use your two weeks in Nepal to experience the country’s strong cultural, community and family life. You will share accommodation with volunteers from around the world, giving you the opportunity to form lifelong friendships as you work together on your project and explore the country.

Accommodation is close to the care centres and transport is provided daily for the trips to and from the placement. The two weeks in Nepal will also give volunteers the opportunity to explore the country’s scenic landscapes and bustling city life in the evenings and over weekends. Walk through Nepal’s ancient temples, go trekking, visit Chitwan National Park, search for souvenirs in local markets or practise your traditional dance moves with fellow volunteers.

This placement is fully researched, safety audited and risk assessed in accordance with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector.
