Community Village Project in Fiji

This project gives volunteers the unique opportunity to experience life in a traditional Fijian village. Located near Nadi town on the main island of Viti Levu, students will see Fiji from a very different perspective than the well-known tourist image.

The village has its own kindergarten with a primary school nearby which students attend. Our volunteers will split their time between arranging educational games and activities for the children, as well as renovation work on the school and other community involvement.

Students will live with local host families in the village and get involved in all aspects of traditional islander culture and customs such daily village life, Fijian cooking at the host family and integrating with the local children of the village. Volunteers will get a chance to explore the beautiful life in Fiji with a day trip and visits to the local attractions.

This placement is fully researched, safety audited and risk assessed in accordance with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector.

Every year, thousands of Short-term Special volunteers actively make a difference around the world. During their time abroad, they contribute towards achieving long-term goals and make a long-lasting positive impact on the communities where they work.
