India Volunteer Business Internships and Work-Experience Placements
Our Business Project in India will see you working on an internship placement with an Indian company in one of the most exciting economies in the world today!
India is recognised as the world’s second fastest-growing major economy, and it is predicted that it will eclipse China as the world's fastest-growing economy by the end of 2010. At the current time, trade links between India and Britain have never been stronger, with Prime Minister Gordon Brown recently visiting the country to meet with various leaders of industry. Projects Abroad can place you at the very heart of this!
There are many opportunities for those who wish to study or work within one of the key sectors where India currently specialises. Whether you are on a gap-year and looking to be accepted onto a business course at university, or you are looking to break into a fast-paced business sector, a Business Internship in India offers access to the work-experience that will help you to stand out from the crowd.
Business work-experience opportunities with Projects Abroad in India
You can be placed in one of a number of businesses in the south of India. Here we work primarily in Tamil Nadu. Our business placements focus mainly on the manufacturing sector, textiles and the non-profit sector.
We work with a wide range of companies, from traditional primary and secondary industries to the rapidly expanding tertiary sector. Experience in the areas of Indian Finance and Business Consultancy will greatly enhance any CV.
Working on a Business Internship Placement in India
As an intern on one of our Business placements, you can provide effective and constructive help working on a variety of projects. During the placement, volunteers are expected to be punctual, professional and hard-working. You will be required to work an average of 35 hours per week, usually Monday-Friday.
When you arrive at work on your first day, you will be assigned a supervisor who will be able to advise and support you during your placement. Of course you will also have Projects Abroad staff on hand to support you throughout the duration of your placement.
The work you do will depend on the placement, but be prepared to be challenged! You will get involved with the day-to-day activities of the office whether that be contacting different clients, working with business support teams, researching for current or future projects, putting together portfolios, attending meetings or working on set briefs!
However you will also need to be flexible, as the culture is likely to be somewhat different to what you might expect back home; there can’t be many jobs in the UK where people take breaks to make an offering at the local temple, and you will have to be prepared to get used to the taste of sweet Chai tea!
