Learn more about Cambodian culture and community life during this two-week structured programme. You’ll help to leave a lasting impact by working directly with children at one of the many care centres in Phnom Penh and assisting with community outreaches.
Volunteers will work to provide a stimulating environment for the children and support their early development. You may be asked to teach basic life skills or organise fun, interactive games. You will also be encouraged to research and bring along your own materials for activities including sports, arts and crafts, and music. These sorts of activities provide much needed variety and excitement for the children. Your work will also extend to the community in the form of cultural days or assisting with the painting and decoration of a partner placement.
You will live in shared accommodation along with your fellow volunteers in the capital city, Phnom Penh, which is a great base from which to explore the country. Your visit isn’t complete without a few essential stops in and around Cambodia, including a trip to the local markets, national museums and of course, the world famous Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap.
This placement is fully researched, safety audited and risk assessed in accordance with the British Standard BS8848 for the Adventure Travel Sector.
