Working with children in the South Pacific

Projects Abroad High School Special volunteers do arts and crafts with children at their Care and Community placement in Fiji

Volunteering in the South Pacific on a Care project is a wonderfully rewarding experience that will allow you to make a positive impact in the lives of many children, ranging in age from small babies to teenagers. You will also have the chance to discover a new culture and way of life while on your placement in Fiji or Samoa. There is no required training or degree necessary to participate in these South Pacific Care placements; all that is needed is compassion, dedication and the desire to help others.

Special needs placements in the South Pacific

Care volunteers in the South Pacific have the opportunity to work at centres for special needs children, who require extra attention and care. While these particular placements may be demanding, they are also incredibly worthwhile. Simply spending one on one time with a disabled child can really help to boost their progress.

Volunteer in a day care centre or kindergarten in the South Pacific

Volunteers can also choose to do childcare work in day care centres or kindergartens. Here you will assist the local staff and help look after the children, whether it be reading stories, paying a child individual attention, or running fun, educational activities.

There are a great deal of Care opportunities for volunteers to invest their time, skills and energy. As a volunteer you can make valuable contribution in children’s lives and assist in their development, simply by spending time with them, helping with homework or playing a game.

Our comprehensive Care Management plans ensure that we continue to work towards long-term development goals in the South Pacific area.
