Volunteering in Europe with Projects Abroad
Projects Abroad offers a variety of different programmes in Europe, a continent rich in culture, history and sites of interest. No matter your choice of region or project, you will have an important role to play and your efforts will be greatly appreciated. From taking part in archaeological excavations to assisting refugees, there’s something to suit everybody’s interests.
As an international volunteer with Projects Abroad in this Eastern European city, you will have the opportunity to rediscover a part of Europe once closed off to visitors from “the West.” Volunteers in Romania live in the historic city of Brasov, capital of Transylvania. We offer a wide range of projects in this destination, including Care, Teaching, Sports and Creative & Performing Arts. There's also plenty to see and explore in your time off, from painted monasteries, Transylvanian castles and green mountains to vibrant Black Sea beach resorts, medieval towns and relaxing spas.
Launched in mid-2016, our Refugee Project is based in the town of Reggio di Calabria, which is located in the south of Italy, at the tip of the peninsula. Volunteers have the chance to make a valuable difference in the lives of the many refugees and migrants arriving in boats off the coast. This beautiful city is also home to several important archaeological sites, museums and castles, along with stunning beaches and sea views to enjoy in your time off.
Living and Travelling in Europe
Volunteers on placements in Europe will usually be accommodated with a friendly host family, or stay in apartments with fellow volunteers. In your time off on weekends, in the afternoons or even after your placement, you will have the chance to travel and explore the various attractions that the regions have to offer! Volunteering in Europe is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the local culture, while exploring a new destination and making a real positive impact in the lives of those who need your help.
