Care in Moldova - 2 week volunteering 'taster'

2-Week Specials, Care & Community in Moldova

If you have plenty of energy and enthusiasm, you can help to give Moldovan children a summer to remember. Moldova is the poorest country in Europe and many of the children we work with here are orphans or have special needs. While they are housed and looked after, they do not receive much attention or affection - which is where you come in.

You'll be based in or around Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, either working at a summer camp on the outskirts of the city, or at the huge children's hospital, or in one of our partner orphanages. Wherever you're working you'll be with a member of our staff and a group of fellow young volunteers, helping to organise games and activities for groups of young children, and teach them a little English through fun, informal lessons. Volunteers are welcome to use their own ideas and interests, whether your strong point is in sports, music or arts and crafts. While you work, you will also be learning about life in a rarely-visited country with a fascinating history.

2-Week Specials, Care & Community in Moldova

At the weekend, we will organise a barbecue party on the beach-like banks of the River Bîc, or perhaps a trip up into the surrounding countryside to see the rock-hewn churches and the monks that inhabit them. This is a great chance to socialise with other volunteers and Moldovans, as well as to try a few of the local delicacies.

The price of this placement is £995, with an additional charge of £395 if you want to extend for an extra week. This includes accommodation, food, insurance, in-country transportation and support, work experience and leisure activities.

Care in Moldova also runs as one of our standard projects, for anyone aged 17 and up. For more information please follow this link: Care in Moldova
