Archaeology in Romania - 2 week volunteering 'taster'

Our archaeology programme in Romania is based around the historic towns of Alba Iulia and Bourdosani in Transylvania, considered to be an area of huge archaeological importance. Artefacts dating to 4000 BC have been found as well as Greek, Roman and Dacian remains. It is a region steeped in history and volunteers will be able to join some of the many excavations taking place.
The work you will be involved in is very varied. There will be opportunities to help on an archaeological dig, and to assist with the restoration of a medieval church. Other tasks involve cleaning pottery, visits to museums and recording items found during digs.
Volunteering in Romania in your Summer Holidays

Full training is provided by our archaeology co-ordinator, George Ciotlausi. Accommodation is in local hostels, with local families or on site depending on the location of project you are working on. Prepare to get your hands dirty!
The price of this placement is £995, with an additional charge of £395 if you want to extend for an extra week. This includes accommodation, food, insurance, in-country transportation and support, work experience and leisure activities.
