New Animal Care Project in Samoa
Volunteers who are interested in the veterinary field are now able to experience the island life of Samoa while volunteering at their new Animal Care project.
Due to the lack of animal education and, of course, the cruel treatment of domestic animals in many Samoan households, Projects Abroad decided to open an Animal Care project. Volunteers are not expected to have any veterinary training to participate in this project, just a keen interest in animal welfare.
Volunteers work on a variety of different activities, such as helping with consultations and treatment of sick animals, sterilisation, inoculations, assisting on de-sexing clinics and educational programmes as well as helping to run the adoption programme.
The animals that volunteers will be working with are mainly domestic animals, such as dogs and cats.
