2. Overland travel to and from your destination (or overland travel mixed with flights).

Turn your journeys into a big adventure by travelling overland! We can book everything up so you’ll have a clear itinerary and all your tickets in your hand before you leave.

You can go to Mongolia or China via the Trans-Siberian railway, flying to Moscow first if you prefer. These journeys take a couple of weeks if you go all the way by train or a week if you fly to Moscow. You can fly back if you prefer.

You can go beyond China to Cambodia and Thailand if you are really adventurous. Allow three weeks. Again you can fly back if you prefer.

You can go to Romania or Moldova by regular European trains – or through Spain, across the Mediterranean by ferry to Morocco and then on to Rabat using Moroccan Railways.

3. Onward flights to other places or round the world.

Maybe Projects Abroad for you is only one part of a mega-trip. Are you planning to travel on to Australia after South America or India? Are you going to the US or Canada after Mexico? Whatever your plan, we can probably help.

We would be happy to book your onward flights and bring you home by your chosen route.

4. Local travel add-ons in your destination - one week.

Many volunteers like to travel around their destination country or to visit neighbouring countries but may be apprehensive about arranging this on their own or travelling on their own, so we arrange group trips for between one and six volunteers. All these trips are accompanied by one of our own colleagues.

These “add-on” trips are designed to be great cultural and travel experiences. In South Africa, for example, we visit game parks but also have an in-depth visit to Soweto. In Bolivia, we visit the rainforest and its indigenous people but also see at first hand the threats to the rainforest. We aim to make all our trips enjoyable but also really informative.

There are no fixed departure dates; the trips go when there is the demand.

We are developing new trips all the time, and are open to new ideas, but here are the ones we can offer right now.
