If you can’t bear to hear another thing about MP expenses, the economic downturn and the unpredictable weather forecast for the summer, why not consider getting away from it all on a volunteering placement overseas?

Visiting a country where the pace of life is slower, the climate is mild, the landscape is beautiful and the locals are friendly could be just what you need and you’ll also be lending a very helpful hand in Europe’s poorest country, Moldova.
Moldova is a small and beautiful country nestled between Romania and Ukraine and benefits from being close to the Black Sea with its mild and sunny climate. Moldova was part of the Soviet Union before gaining independence in 1991 and despite being plunged into an economic crisis following the collapse of the Soviet Union, it is slowly growing in prosperity, especially in its capital city, Chisinau.
As a volunteer in Moldova, you will be based in Chisinau, a pleasant city with the proportion of green spaces in the city being one of the highest among major European cities. As well as being the most economically prosperous city in Moldova, Chisinau is also an important industrial and commercial centre and is one of the main transportation hubs of the region.
You will certainly be in demand whilst volunteering on one of our Teaching, Care, Sports, Medicine and Healthcare, Journalism or Business placements in Moldova and you could also use the opportunity to learn some Russian on our Language programme whilst you’re at it!
