What is a Gap Month?
A Gap Month refers to a period of time between school and university without having to take a formal gap year. It allows students to get involved in a worthwhile project through a short term volunteer placement, work experience or travel to Africa, Asia or Latin America.
A Gap Month may be particularly useful for individuals or groups who are looking to volunteer or travel but do not want to defer university. Doing a volunteer project for only one month means students can still get involved without having to take a gap year and pay increased tuition fees in 2012.
