Projects Abroad Sri Lanka is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to receive and welcome foreign volunteers on arrival at the airport and help with project related functions.
The main objective of this position is to welcome and collect volunteers when they arrive at the airport and take them to their accommodation.
Essential to your role as Volunteer Coordinator is to help new volunteers feel safe, comfortable and confident about their stay upon arrival, while letting them know we are here to support them, and make sure they have a wonderful experience.
The job is busy and can be physically demanding so you should be prepared to work flexible hours and be willing to travel within and outside project locations when necessary. This is for immediate hiring.
- Be a Sri Lankan national
- Be between 19 - 35 years old
- Be fluent in English (fluency in other foreign languages is an advantage)
- Reside within close proximity of Bandaranaika International Airport, Katunayake
- Be flexible and able to work at odd hours
- Be proficient in the use of MS Office and the Internet
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Have excellent organisational and PR skills
- Have experience working with culturally diverse populations in a related field (advantageous)
This is a permanent contract, subject to a 3-month probationary period.
