An exciting new opportunity has become available on the Projects Abroad Fiji Shark Conservation Project for a Field Scientist / Dive Instructor. The position is for an initial 1 year contract that includes a 6 month probationary period. Upon satisfactory performance, a contract extension may be offered.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a biological discipline.
Minimum OWSI preferably MSDT with at least 50 certifications.
Have current PADI & EFR teaching status.
Ability to coordinate and supervise large groups in a professional and friendly manner under stressful conditions.
Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Motivated, proactive and punctual.

Experience in the volunteerism industry.
Existing knowledge of shark conservation issues, monitoring and mitigation techniques.
AWARE Shark Conservation Diver Instructor certification.
Experience training DMTs.
An understanding, respect and adherence of local cultures and dress codes.

The successful candidate will receive comfortable accommodation, a competitive salary within the industry, food subsistence allowance, associated visa fees, a return flight to country of origin on completion of 1 year contract, and all future PADI renewal and insurance fees throughout employment.
